In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle through Car Hire in Witney, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions can differ based on vehicle type, with possible extra charges for drivers under 25. You must possess a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification and proof of address are required, along with payment information and a security deposit. Any further requirements will be detailed in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Witney office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are usually payable upon vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be generated and signed by both parties for documentation. When returning the vehicle, ensure it is in the same condition as when collected, aside from standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged appropriately. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as when picked up; refueling fees will apply if it is not. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us immediately if you expect a delay. Insurance and Liability Policy

You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to lower your financial liability. It’s important to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional insurance is in place. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- Vehicles must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of substances or for purposes not intended by the manufacturer is prohibited. Additionally, exceeding passenger or weight limits and operating outside designated geographical boundaries without prior approval are unacceptable practices.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Witney will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraud.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be addressed in the courts of England and Wales.
